Status concerning the MCI Application for Water Tanks and Valves (all 21 Peter Cooper Village Buildings) |
||||
Background:This MCI application is in the Tenants' Answer to Notice step of the DHCR Administrative Review Process. If you are a Peter Cooper Village Rent Stabilized Tenant, you have already received a notice from the Division of Housing & Community Renewal (DHCR) advising that Tishman Speyer has applied for a Major Capital Improvement (MCI) rent increase to cover the cost of resurfacing of water tanks and valves The average cost of this MCI is $7 per room per month. You may recall that we previously asked tenants to request a 60-day extension to Answer/Comment. On December 18th 2009, the Tenants Association distributed a carefully researched and constructed "Answer to Notice" outlining the objections to the MCI Application and asked tenants to attach the Answer to a copy of their Notice and mail it to DHCR. If you have not already done so and need the instructions and copies of this Answer to Notice kit, please follow this link: <http://www.stpcvta.org/flyers/pcv_how_to_answer_watertank.pdf> |
