The Board of Directors of the STPCV Tenants Association endorses nine candidates for positions on the board as recommended by its Election Committee. The Election Committee implemented a robust outreach and vetting process.
The election date is May 29, 2025. Only members current in their dues as of April 10, 2025, are eligible to vote. See below for an alternate process to run for the board.
Candidates endorsed by the Board include:
Orsolya Bartha is an attorney and the owner of the Bartha Law, P.C., law firm, which specializes in real estate transactions, property management, landlord-tenant disputes, affordable housing, green energy compliance, condo/coop issues, and trusts and estates. Previously, she had a distinguished career in human rights and international law, advocating for the rights of persons with disabilities and older people. She lives in Peter Cooper Village with her husband, daughter, and labradoodle.
Richard Bengloff, a lifelong tenant of ST/PCV, is a retired accountant with some expertise in real estate and property maintenance, including as a former CFO of WNYC Radio and other organizations, as well as lobbying experience. He has been an active hands-on board member of many not-for-profit organizations, including formerly over 15 years as a board member/treasurer of local East End Temple. He looks forward to giving back and supporting our local ST/PCV community.
Sherryl Kirschenbaum (incumbent) is the Director of the Tenants Association’s telephone hotline, overseeing the volunteers who respond to resident inquiries. He also advocates for prompt and effective maintenance, safety on the streets, environmental protection, and quality of life. Andy is also enthusiastic about running, hiking, and dogs.
David Stanek has been a resident of Peter Cooper Village for three years and hopes to contribute to the board of the Tenants Association with his expertise in urban planning and public policy.
