Plans for East River Storm Barriers for Public Review at Dec. 3 Meeting at Bard H.S. Early College

The Mayor’s Office of Resiliency and Recovery has sent the following information to stakeholders:

The City of New York is making progress with the East Side Coastal Resiliency (ESCR) Project.  Starting this month, the City is conducting an environmental review to analyze the potential environmental and social impacts of proposed design alternatives for the project.

The ESCR Project aims to enhance the public waterfront along the East River between Montgomery Street and East 23rd Street. This project is part of the citywide effort to make our city safer and better able to withstand the impacts of coastal flooding and sea-level rise.

The Mayor’s Office of Recovery and Resiliency, in partnership with City agencies, is hosting a public meeting for community members to share their input on the Draft Scope of Work for the ESCR Project’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The meeting will take place on:

Thursday, December 3, Presentation at 7:00 P.M.

Bard High School Early College, 525 East Houston Street

[14D bus to E. Houston and Mangin Sts. or the M21 Houston crosstown]
